Preventing Discrimination

Zero Tolerance Policy
At ROOO, we stand firm against discrimination. We categorically prohibit any discriminatory behavior against our Drivers or Riders based on race, religion, national origin, disability, gender identity or sexual orientation, marital status, age, or any other characteristic protected under applicable Federal or State law. Examples of such behavior include:
– Drivers intentionally avoiding certain neighborhoods due to the demographics of the area.
– Riders making derogatory comments about a driver’s personal qualities.
Any violation of discrimination laws or engagement in discriminatory conduct will result in suspension from our platform following a thorough investigation.
Combatting Sexual Harassment
We are committed to maintaining a harassment-free environment. Sexual harassment, in any form, is unacceptable. It includes unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, or any other unwelcome conduct of a sexual nature that causes discomfort or distress. The Sex Discrimination Act 1984 (Commonwealth) prohibits and defines sexual harassment, safeguarding individuals from victimization for reporting such incidents. Examples of sexually harassing behavior include:
– Unwelcome physical contact or staring.
– Suggestive comments, jokes, or explicit content.
– Requests for dates or intrusive inquiries into personal life.
We expect all members of our community to respect personal boundaries and privacy. Inappropriate conduct, such as asking personal questions or making explicit gestures, will not be tolerated. Violations of these guidelines may lead to legal consequences.
Face Mask Policy Update
Effective September 2022, face masks are no longer mandatory in public transport, including ridesharing services. However, exemptions are permitted for individuals with medical conditions or disabilities. Medical exemptions include conditions affecting breathing, serious facial skin conditions, disabilities, or mental health issues like asthma.
