Become a ROOO Driver in South Australia

Ready to drive with ROOO? Here’s what you’ll need to get started. We’ve kept things simple and transparent — just meet the requirements below and submit your documents.

🔸 Driver Requirements

To drive with ROOO in South Australia, you must:

  • Be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or have work rights in Australia
  • Hold a full, unrestricted SA driver’s licence (held for at least 12 months)
  • Have an active mobile number, email, and a smartphone
  • Be ABN-registered and GST-registered
  • Hold both:
    • Valid Driver Accreditation (DA)
    • Valid Operator Accreditation (OA)
  • Be listed as the insured driver on the vehicle’s insurance

🔸 Vehicle Requirements

Your car must:

    • Be no more than 8 years old
    • Have at least 4 doors
    • Seat between 4–6 passengers
    • Not have been previously used as a taxi
    • Be free of visible damage or signage
    • Have passed a vehicle inspection within the last 12 months
    • Have:
      • Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance upgraded to eligible class (48, 98, 7, or 58)
      • Current third-party or comprehensive insurance with you listed as the driver

Profile Picture

A clear, high-resolution headshot (JPG, JPEG, or PNG — minimum 200x200 pixels)

SA Driver’s Licence

Current, unrestricted licence or valid temporary licence receipt (minimum 6 months holding period)

Proof of ID

Accepted: passport, ImmiCard, birth certificate, or citizenship certificate

Operator Accreditation (OA)

Vehicle Insurance

Proof of active third-party or comprehensive insurance with your name as listed driver

Vehicle Inspection

CTP Upgrade

Provide proof of upgraded Compulsory Third Party (CTP) insurance to an eligible rideshare class

Profile Picture

You will need to submit a clear photo of yourself (in JPG, JPEG, PNG format, at least 200 x 200 pixels). The photo you submit will be displayed as your profile picture for riders to verify you.

Signage Requirements

  • Rear Windshield: Display the ROOO sticker on the rear windshield, driver’s side.
  • Front Windshield: Place the vehicle inspection sticker on the front windshield, passenger’s side.

After your application is approved, you’ll receive two self-adhesive ROOO stickers by mail. Most state and territory regulations mandate that vehicles used for passenger services display appropriate signage. Non-compliance may result in penalties.
